Getting the runaround

I seriously have to wonder how well Sophie, my White Russian, knows how to tell time? Every night she tucks me into bed.  Then minutes before the alarm goes off every morning she wakes me up.  Sometimes it's in a nice way, other times she pounces on my belly to announce her arrival.
Sophie
We also have a Russian Blue named Bella.   This has been our challenging fur child.  She's not nice to Sophie; beats her up every chance she gets.  She hisses alot and smacks you when you don't do things her way.   She is getting better though and likes me more now than she has in the past.
Bella
They are both almost 8 years old and are starting to evolve into adult cat mode with new personality traits coming out weekly.
Bella's latest thing is needing to sit on the chair with me when I'm working on the computer.  The cats definitely run this house.  This morning (and many others in past) Bella gave me the run around.  First she wanted catnip, then more water, the food bowl wasn't full enough, then the window needed to be opened.  She must have carried on for over an hour until she finally settled in on the chair behind me where she is now.  Ah the life of a cat.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could have the superior service whenever we wanted anything?  LOL
Hope you don't get a week of the runaround at your house.  Then again, maybe we'd be fully bored if we didn't have anything to do?
Enjoy,
Tam
PS.  Although we don't currently have a dog, I do love them.  As kids my brother and I had a dog named Snoopy (original name, right? LOL)  She was a Sheppard/Lab mix and one of the most beautiful souls.  I did the "I'm a Dog" colouring book some time ago. Here's one of the pictures of a from inside... I think it's such a cute bulldog:checkingin995 (2)_LI
PPS. Love dogs?  Go buy one!

It's Official

I finished Christmas yesterday!  I'm so happy now all of the presents are either made &/or purchased.  I still have a few things to do though - for example I bought the wrong size pants for someone so I have to go and return those, but it will be done today.

I'm not so prepared that anything is wrapped.  I love to leave that part to the last minute.  That way it feels like Christmas.

My husband and I celebrate Yule so it's nice this year as it's on Sunday the 21st.  Then we have two other celebrations one with his family & then mine.  It's always a lot of traveling but so much fun.

I'm looking forward to it.

And today we are putting up our tree!!!!

I know two little fur babies who love tree time!  Then they can pretend they are mean outdoor cats... well, the one anyhow.  The other likes to hide under the skirt!  LOL  She hates it when it's cold.

Have fun!  I'm off to decorate, then paint.

PS.  I was busy this month over on Etsy and have added several planners.  Be sure to buy one for yourself or someone you love!  I'll be adding one or two more over the next few weeks!

PPS. Why buy a planner?  If you don't have a plan you will most certainly get there.... no where that is!  Plan it out, now is the time!

Cake eating season, cats and art

Hey all!
Hope you are enjoying the start of Spring!  We didn't do much for Ostara, but I'm on my Spring cleanse so I'm really behaving myself right now!  LOL

Here's some shots of my girls.  This is Bella!  She's afraid of her own shadow, and on average a really grumpy Russian Blue unless you do what she wants you to do.

She gets mad a lot a Sophie.... she's our little Princess.  Sophie is pretty cute until the screeching starts when the lights go out at night and she thinks its time to play.  Her one eye is 1/2 blue and 1/2 green.

Here's a journal entry I did.  I glued crystals on her for earrings... she's so cute.  The cat turned up later on.  I didn't take a picture of the whole thing just this side of the page... the other part says Spring!  Which is here, right?  Someone outta tell Mother Nature so.

And here is the Owl I was talking about the quote I stoled from Donna... "always believe something wonderful is about to happen".  I saw the Owl clock and the dollar store and had to bring it home and paint it.  I'm an owl in Indian lore so I thought it was fitting.  It was fun to create!

Cake eating season is almost over, there are a few more birthday's to go - we'll see if I eat anymore cake, I'm feeling done with them if truth be told!  I'm more of a crave salt type of person but I've given up chips for awhile because I could stop at just one... bag that is!  LOL

Until next time....
Cheers and have a great weekend!

The Sound of now

Do you ever stop and pay attention to the sounds of life within your home?

This week I've been practicing much present moment awareness.
I practice what I preach mostly because I know it works.

Sometimes it's not as evident and has an effortless flow.  Sometimes I really have to work toward listening to myself.  This has been one of those weeks.  A week where I need to practice to be present.  A challenge with my inner self.  I've chanted....

I am, here now.
I am here.
Here I am in this present moment.
There is only this moment.
And I breathe.

It's been a process of forgetting in one moment.  A wave of anxiety.  A moment of remembering.  A soothing state of rest of relaxation.

Another tool I've worked with this week is listening to the sounds around me.

Here are some sounds which have brought me into the now....

-Fish tank water cycling.
-Sophie screeching for someone, anyone to throw her ball for her (yes she is one strange cat).
-Bella meowing beside her window (this is one Russian Blue that adores her window time).
-Rodney Yee's Yoga Burn playing in the living room.
-The Oracle's struggle with downward dog (he secretly hates down dog).
-Vishen Lakhiani's Envisoning Method Meditation playing.

I adore the sounds I live with.  Who knew how wonderful and blissful these sounds are?
It's been working albeit slowly.  Give it a go.  Listen then repeat after me:  "Every sound I hear draws me more into the presence of this moment."

And so it will be.

Wishing you much peace,
Tammy

PS.  A few changes over on my Etsy page - from its name to some new additions:

Mini journal covers....

And a book to journal in....

This is so adorable!  And a great reminder of what is needed this week.

Rise.  That's right....rise above it all.
