White Light

So it seems I shouldn't wear white after Victoria Day.  And yesterday I learnt I should look in the mirror more often.  After I got home from teaching I went to put my hair up and when I finally did look into the mirror saw I had spilled my morning coffee all over my white shirt!
Not one of the 45 people I had contact with during classes (or the others I spoke to all day) told me.  New rule... no more white!  At least I didn't walk around all day with egg on my face - or did I?
I have a new obsession... Matt Kahn
Have you heard of him?  I just cyberly met him this past week and I have a serious soul crush on this guy!  He is an amazing spiritual teacher.  Here's one of his videos that really resonated with me...

What was interesting, among many other things, was the portion of the video where he discusses emptiness.

Years ago when I lived alone I would go to bed at night and feel empty - which at the time associated with loneliness and depression.  There was this void that would enter and feel overwhelming.  At the time I hated this feeling. Then if you had told me this was a connection to the divine I would have told you to F-O or similar words.
Years later, I enjoy this sensation when it arrives.  I embrace it.  This void is so expansive; comforting truly without pain, without peril. It was interesting to hear him explain this emptiness, this connection to source.
The space between the breaths can hold this sensation as well.  The gap where the inhale meets the exhale, or the exhale greets the inhale.  It was either Rod Stryker or Stephen Cope ( can't recall which one) who taught this during a meditation retreat.  This space or void is your connection to the soul.  Today I receive this idea with a new understanding.
I'll leave you with this for today.  And ask if you see me wearing white with a coffee stain please mention it!  I'll do the same so we have each other's backs... or front so it seems.
Keep shining your light.
Namaste,
Tammy

Being Wize enough to know

Sometimes it's easy for us to remember what it is we truly know.  Other times we question our sanity and wonder if we know anything at all?  When I was in my 20's there wasn't telling me much of anything - I believed I knew it all.  Now with the addition of 20 years I'm not sure I know anything really!  LOL

This journal entry came about to remind myself to work with the information that is known and leave the rest until such a time it also is known...

PS.  I adore how this owl turned out.  It's so adorable!

PPS.  It's also my first time using Gel medium (the tree) and the patchwork on the owl's wings/feet

Soothing

This art journal entry came about while I was journaling thoughts that I found soothing.

It doesn't matter who we are we all have 'one of those days' when we need things to help us feel better.
I was surprised to see the cat jump out of this painting. I was about to Gesso over it when my husband's eyes begged me not to harm the kitty! Thanks to him, the kitten lived on and I'm happy I left it in there - so cute!
Anyhow as you can see I find cats, tea and yoga all things that make me feel better on days when I'm not 100% - there were other things too but this is the full expression.

Enjoy Soothing:

PS. It's a shame the lightening in this picture is so poor - its actually quite vibrant in real life.

PPS. What do you find soothing?

Acceptance

One of the things I adore about art journaling is the ability to create something wonderful out of emotions that may not feel the best.  All of us have things in our lives we wish we could change; things that aren't to our liking.

The things we wish were different can be a source of fear, struggle and depression.  Or we can utilize the saying, "Help me to accept the things I can not change" (I know, so 12 steps here, right?)  We can poke fun or realize it's essence of truth.

We can keep up the struggle and allow the chaos into our internal world, or we can release it to the larger powers of spirit; trusting things will unfold as they should (which they will anyhow regardless of our involvement).

This was similar to one of my journal entries which helped me shift from the pain of a situation to releasing it to spirit.

Isn't she lovely?  I even found the courage to thank this situation as a blessing:

I have no idea why the bird ended up in there but for some reason it wanted to be.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you too find a way to come to a place of acceptance with something you are struggling with.

Namaste,
Tammy

And the times they are a'changin

As I typed the title of this post I just realized how long it's been since I've played this song on the guitar.  I'll definitely have to fiddle with the Fender later and see how I make out with that.

Yes change, it's that time of year - change in so many ways.

Children are back to school so it's a time for change with students, for parents and for teachers.  As a Yoga teacher its time for me to get back to the mat with my yoga tribe (something I've truly missed over the past month and can't wait to get back to).  It's growing close to a change of season and the energy of the planet is also in it's state of change and flux as we embrace a cooler climate in Ontario.

It's how we show up for the changes that is significant.

How are we embracing change?

Are we able to show up fully?  And if so do we do with tired feelings, anxiousness or happiness?

It is interesting to become an observer and simply watch ourselves in the midst of change.

There is so much we can learn simply by being and watching.

The trick is to do so without giving our inner critic energy; without judgement as we allow the process of change to unfold within our lives and our hearts.

Embrace the changes around you with an open heart and an open mind; knowing that some changes can result in our largest amounts of growth.

Trust you are being guided and remember you have so much potential in there!

Much love,
Tam

PS.  So one thing I've changed is how I'm going to be using my Etsy shop.  I am now ready and will make the time to sell physical paintings and not only offer digital.  Here are the first two that are no longer digital:

Guided toward WellBeing

Ok, so I was wrong about the Royal baby - there was a 50% shot that I was right.  Still think its funny he was born on a full moon though.

Just a fast post today as I promised to let you know when I had posted my Exercise & Wellbeing  product over on my Etsy page.

So did you hear, I posted my 40 Day Mini Exercise and Wellbeing Journal Printable Weight loss guide and planner over on my Etsy page?  LOL

I had so much fun putting this program together.  The mini journal above supports 40 days of recording your behaviours & a place for you to pre-plan some changes.  Plus you get all of these:

Exercise Plan, shopping list, Weight & Wellbeing Journal, Health & Wellbeing script (all of these are 8 1/2 x 11") and more... go see them on the Etsy shop.  Anyhow they'll help you to get through the 40 days of shifting your behaviours.

We can all have a plan, but it is those who write their plans down succeed more than those who do not.  The act of writing puts the plan into action and allows you to see where you are headed, record your success & progress and helps you to overcome resistances in this case to release.  This not only applies to weight release but all other aspect of life also.

That's really what it is about when it comes down to releasing whatever it is we no longer wish to hold onto.  Realize for the most part it is only a behaviour pattern and behaviours can be changed.

Repeat after me, "Changing is effortless and easy"

Now you may not believe that, but the more you say it the more the mind will believe it.  It is our wish that you live your best life possible.  May you be happy, peaceful, loving & enjoy the health and wellbeing that is your birth right.

May you be continually blessed and find peace.

Namaste,
Tammy

PS. Here's a mini meditation for today I stumbled upon written by Ram Dass:

"Ask yourself: Where am I?

 Answer: Here.

Ask yourself: What time is it?

Answer: Now.

Say it until you can hear it."

PPS.  Now if I can remember to use this later while I'm at the dentist it will all be good.  I did just write it down or type it (in this case) so in this thinking it will be!

How to experience a miracle and free gifts

I was having coffee with a friend the other day. She asked me how many times I'd heard the saying, "We control our reality."

"Over a thousand times," I told her (at least).

She continued to share how bad things had gotten lately; life wasn't unfolding as she wanted it. Her relationship wasn't what she wanted and her pocketbook wasn't either. She had an idea of how to change all of it but fear was stopping her dead in her tracks. Can you relate?

I recalled something I had read recently. André Gide once said, "Man can not discover new oceans unless he is willing to loose sight of the shore." (Women too.) It was a lightbulb moment for her. Maybe it is for you also?

Once you shift your perspective you can create significant change in your life.

Buddha knew this. Many other great teachers, like André, knew it too.

I created a program called First Hand Miracles: a quote collection for healing and growth. This program has the potential to help you change your reality; its packed full of quotes like you'll find in the quarterly Mindful Melody newsletter.

http://www.reikiandyoga.com/firsthandmiracles.html

It's launches today!

It will help you reprogram your brain. Then you can experience miracles and take control over your reality. There's free gifts too! Even a bonus offer from me.

Be sure to check it out: http://www.reikiandyoga.com/firsthandmiracles.html

Thanks!
Tammy

PS. Please pass on this email to anyone you know who needs a miracle - first hand. PPS. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey!
